The CARGONAVE Group's story begins in the 1970s, when maritime professionals who would later shape Brazil's shipping industry were building their foundations. Mr. James Kerr (in memory), a partner at Cranston Woodhead in Rio Grande, engaged Willie Cunningham for the Cranwood office in Paranaguá.

Following Fernando Cortez (who worked at that time at Cranwood) recommendation, Albano Simões Pinto joined Cranwood Paranaguá for operations. When Willie left to establish the Transcar office in Paranaguá, Albano was promoted to Manager of the Cranwood branch.

In 1987, a defining moment arrived: Albano and Fernando decided to leave Cranwood and open CARGONAVE in Paranaguá and São Francisco do Sul. It was an instant success.

Meanwhile, Willie eventually moved to Transcar Santos, and Victor was brought from Rio Grande to oversee the Transcar office in Paranaguá. After discussions with Fernando and Albano, they decided to open CARGONAVE Santos.

Victor now works alongside his brother at the Paranaguá office, Fernando continues leading operations in São Francisco do Sul, and CARGONAVE Santos thrives under Willie and Orlando's leadership.

AMRG - Agência Marítima Ltda., also linked to the CARGONAVE Group, was established in April 2004 under the capable hands of Capt. James Kerr, Mr. Kurt Enke and Fábio Pinho.

After over 35 years, these maritime professionals who began their journey together in the 1970s have reunited under the CARGONAVE Group banner—a testament to enduring partnerships, shared values, and unwavering commitment to excellence in Brazil's maritime industry.
